We have a well-established tax dispute resolution practice and we have regularly and successfully represented clients in a wide range of disputes with Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs ("HMRC"). However, not all disputes result in litigation and we have considerable expertise in assisting with the negotiation of settlements with HMRC.

Specialists from our Dispute Resolution group and our Tax group work closely together on tax disputes, forming a formidable, integrated team of experts able to deal with all aspects of the case innovatively, seamlessly and efficiently.

Recent successes for our clients include the landmark House of Lords’ decisions in Deutsche Morgan Grenfell Plc v HMRC and Sempra Metals Limited v HMRC, two of the test cases in the Advance Corporation Tax ("ACT") group litigation.
