“mandates in Trinidad and Tobago, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia and South Africa demonstrate the global nature of the practice as well as the firm’s ability to use London as a hub of expertise for what rivals describe as 'an increasingly diverse and international workflow' ”

IFLR 1000, 2008

We have had a leading Project Finance practice since the very first transactions in the UK. We acted on most of the early North Sea projects and their financings, and have continued to be involved at the cutting edge of project finance, acting on many of the largest and most complex international transactions. We are internationally recognised for handling ground-breaking transactions, including across the Middle East, Asia and Europe.

We have a reputation for developing creative and innovative solutions to secure our client’s objectives within the specific legal, political and commercial environment of the country in which the relevant project is located. Our international network allows us to work in multi-specialist teams with lawyers chosen from the world’s leading independent law firms, to provide a unique service which is totally in tune with the local culture in the host country, but equally able to leverage off our substantial international experience and expertise.

Our focus on the largest projects means that we have a client-oriented approach which gives us particular strengths in effective problem solving. We seek to overcome particular challenges unique to any project, rather than simply replicating ill-fitting off the shelf solutions.

Our Project Finance practice covers all major sectors including oil and gas, power, water and waste management, transport, telecoms and sport, and forms part of our extensive Infrastructure, Energy and Natural Resources practice. We have acted for governments, sponsors and funding providers and investors at every stage of a project’s development and its financing.
