We are regularly involved in the consolidation and reorganisation of regulated entities in the financial services sector and have acted on many business transfers under the FSMA regime in both the banking and insurance industries.
As well as larger reorganisations, we advise Financial Institutions on individual applications and on the requirements for authorisation to carry on investment, banking and insurance business in the UK. We regularly advise on cross-border concerns, including the establishment of authorised subsidiaries in the UK, the registration of branches and inward and outward EEA passporting rights.
We have considerable experience in the Insurance sector and advised on the first of the recent insurance company demutualisations and have since been involved in many of the subsequent demutualisations and flotations, including Canada Life, Colonial Mutual, Irish Life, Norwich Union, Old Mutual and Standard Life.
