Ericsson - Joint venture with STMicroelectronics

Slaughter and May is advising Ericsson, the world’s leading provider of technology and services to telecoms operators, on an agreement with STMicroelectronics to merge Ericsson Mobile Platforms and ST-NXP wireless into a joint venture. The 50/50 joint venture will be headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland and governance will be balanced. Implementation of the joint venture is subject to regulatory approvals.

The agreement was announced on 20 August, 2008.
