Gabriel Estevez studied History at University College London. He joined the firm in September 2008.
What sort of work have you been involved in so far?
"A real variety. As well as the jobs typically associated with trainees, such as research and due diligence, I've attended board meetings, drafted agreements, and organised both the incorporation of a company and the issuing of shares in relation to a corporate reorganisation."
What level of support have you received?
"Both of my supervisors have been good-humoured, patient and approachable: I have always felt able to ask for clarification or guidance. Receiving regular feedback on my work has enabled me to develop confidence in my own ability and focus on improving specific skills. The monthly review with a monitoring partner provides added support and has given me the opportunity to discuss the type of work I have been involved in and iron out any concerns."
Have you had the chance to deal directly with clients?
"I've been given the opportunity to liaise directly with clients and counterparties' legal representatives from an early stage - generally here you are given as much responsibility as you are willing and capable of taking on."
Client focus

We are client rather than product focused and put the needs of our clients at centre stage.
The social side

Even before starting your training contract you will have plenty of opportunities to meet other trainees, both future and present.
